The Weekend Roundup.

This little girl is my heart. I love her so much.

This weekend was a doozy! I don't think we could have fit more in!! We kicked things off by watching P-Love cheer at the Taylorsville High basketball game. It was so adorable. It made me miss high school : (
P-Love with Keshi, Jaycee and Tyler. Cute little munchkins.

I NEED to have a little girl of my own. I just don't feel like my life would be complete without this......

Presley has become camera shy. It breaks my heart because she's such a little beauty.

After the game we headed to The Westerner for Kristal's birthday bash. TOO FUN!

Me and Drew about two seconds after he and his cute wife told me their having  A BOY!!!

The music selection that night SUCKED. I was really annoyed!

Kristal turns a year older gracefully; ) She's more beautiful than ever. Seriously love this pic.

Jonny, oh he just makes my heart melt. He's just the best. My heart feels like it will burst with love for him sometimes.

The boys left for Wendover on Saturday night and when they returned on Sunday afternoon they crashed in my living room. I had boys draped everywhere. I really don't mind. I kind of like it. Maybe it's because I know it makes Jonny happy. Which makes me happy too. P.S. How funny is this picture!!?

Last but not least. Made a cake for my Kristal's actual birthday, which is today. Couldn't love her any more.

Sweet Relief.

Yesterday I got pretty down about Cody's progress since his surgery. I told Amanda I thought maybe the surgery was a mistake, he's seemed so sluggish and slow. We had to pull him on his walks, usually he pulls us! We would put food in his bowl and he would just stare at it and slowly pick at it throughout the day. He'd lost the little puppy quality that he's held onto for all these years. Jonny and I just told each other last night that we just need to give him more time to recover...he would be his old self again soon.

This morning we did the normal routine. I put Cody's vitamins and medicine in his food bowl, patted his little head and plunked breakfast down on his mat. He just stared at it. I let out a long worried sigh. Let him outside to do his business. When he came back into the house he went to a dimly lit corner of the living room and was sniffing at this dark pile of something. I SHRIEKED! Cody looked at me like I was nuts and meandered into the kitchen. It took me some time to get the courage to go over to investigate what it was. My first thought, it's his intestines. They have come out of his body and are on my living room floor! Second thought, really bad diarrhea?? Nope. It was an ace bandage. An entire ace bandage surrounded by doggy vomit. **Sorry for the graphic nature of my description.** I ran to the laundry room where I had just laundered his bandages. All were accounted for. Best I can figure, he ate that bandage while he was still living with my mom and recovering from his surgery. You could tell his body had tried to digest it. I can't imagine how it didn't kill him. How he was still able to eat, albeit less enthusiastically, and still go to the bathroom. When I came home from work this evening he jumped up to greet me. He drooled while I prepared his dinner and gobbled it up. He even tried to fight another dog on his walk!! I never thought I'd be so happy about that kind of behavior. Jonny and I both are practically giddy! There's this hearty quality about Cody that I've always loved. He's back. Thank God.

Our Magical Trip to Disney

Jonny and I decided on a rather last minute trip to Disneyland this weekend.  It was so nice to get away and spend time with Jonny. I cried, oh, just about 8 times while reminiscing about the week we got engaged. It was very romantic.

Mickey and Minnie welcome us to the Disneyland hotel. We will never stay at another hotel again.  WE LOVED IT.

`
There are two schools of thought regarding adults in Minnie/Mickey ears. First one, you look like an overgrown child and a moron. Second, you look awesome, I love how into Disney you get. I obviously subscribe to the second school of thought, and yet I understand the first. I scared myself several times while walking past mirrors and other shiny surfaces.

Mickey Ferris Wheel.
Not the best pic. but that's a service dog in Micky ears. Too cute!!

We try not to smile on the teacups.
I always crack first. It's harder than you think!

Even the elevators in Disneyland are magical! They pay attention to even the smallest detail.

This was our headboard with the light on, turn the light off and...........

.......This is what you got, while the lamp by the bed played "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes" It's these little things, and a bunch of big things, that make it my very very favorite place on earth.

The Lonely Doll.

Edith and little Bear.

When I was little I wanted gold hoop earrings and bangs so i could look just like Edith.

When I was just a tiny lil' thing my mom had a book that she kept from her childhood called, "The Lonely Doll." I loved it so much. I remember spending hours cozy on the couch looking at the pictures. It always felt like a treat because my mom kept it on the top shelf of her closet so I had to ask her permission to get it down so I could look at it. I thought the doll, Edith, was so pretty. I remember wishing I looked just like her. I was listening to the radio the other day and heard about a book that came out years ago about the author, Dare Wright. I'm dying to get my hands on it. Apparently she had a fascinating life. She was separated at birth from her brother whom she later met and fell in love with. She looked just like Edith the doll and spent most of her time with her mom who liked to dress her up like a princess and take her picture, among other things! I really can't wait. And I can't wait for they day when I have a little girl so I can read her every single "Lonely Doll" book I can get my hands on.

Road Trip!

I'm totally obsessed with this motel I stumbled across. It's called "The Shady Dell"  and it's nestled in the heart of historic Bisbee, Arizona. It's made up of vintage 1950's trailers that have been restored, each with a different theme. Their tag line is, "Experience the 1950's in Full Technicolor." Are they marketing directly to me?? I HAVE to go! Only drawback; Bisbee is a 14 hour drive from Salt Lake City. Can I justify that?

Peggy's Diner. Could you just die. Look at the picket fence.

Oh, I can just see me and Jonny sipping some mint tea and chatting for hours at that kitschy little table!

Today was pretty good. They opened a Kathmandu A BLOCK from my house. Really delish Indian food. I sang "That's All I Ask Of You" at the top of my lungs on the way home from work and cried the whole time thinking of Jonny. Two things that were kind of a downer; I got locked in the bathroom at work. It was funny until it wasn't. I got really bad heartburn. If that ever happens to you drink a tall glass of warm water with a tablespoon of baking soda dissolved in it. Works fast and works well!

Scenes From A Lovely Weekend.....

On Saturday Jonny had a smudge of dirt on his car window that looked just like a seahorse. It was uncanny! I tried so hard to take a picture but it was so tiny I couldn't. I think of it an omen that I should get a seahorse as a pet. As soon as I have a spare grand or two lying around, I will! I didn't think seahorses were real until I was 10. I thought they were the unicorns of the sea, they still seem so otherworldly and magical to me.
Besides gazing at the seahorse smudge on Jonny's window all weekend we...................................

Ate some delicious takeout from Pat's Barbeque. Go. There. YUM!!
Didn't tip the art students that work there. I might as well just throw some pot in there. Am I right, or am I right?

Coveted this............
And this.
And especially this!
Made a delish coconut cake as a goodbye to my mommy. She loves coconut.

Bought some pretty adorable porcelain Russian Nesting Dolls!
